Nature's Inn
Situated by the border between the urban and the natural recreational area of the Brabrand lake in Aarhus, my 2d semester Bed & Breakfast project aimed to involve its natural surroundings. Shaping this
dwelling according to the site, and thorough research on it the previous semester, was essential initial design parameters. In a glade full of trees, moss and other plants, the house would invite people to either use the roof as a platform to experience the nature, or to enter the interior of the house. The site slightly slopes, and so does the house, per a level declining floor and an askew roof. A tree would be growing from where you enter the reception, where the B&B’s kitchen would also be located. Meals would be prepared from local crops and cattle.
